The game is viewed with an isometric perspective. The game features the official ARL (Australian Rugby League) licence and so includes all official team names and badges etc. from that league. The State of Origin team competition is also included under the licence. The Super League (Europe) licence was not obtained, and hence that league appears as Europe League in the game, with team names being the town/city where they are based. Also present are a number of international teams and an EA Sports All-Star team. Friendly matches can be set up with any combination of teams.

The game features a team editor, allowing custom player names to be used.
